DR. ROBERT NEIGHBORS

DR. ROBERT NEIGHBORS

DDS

Dr. Neighbors is a native Virginian. He received his undergraduate degree in science from Wake Forest University and then attended the Medical College of Virginia, Virginia Commonwealth University where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Dr. Neighbors did a two year Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). He later taught full time at the UCSF dental school, teaching undergraduate and graduate dental students. Dr. Neighbors moved back to Richmond in 1997 and has been practicing in Midlothian since. He enjoys practicing the full scope of cosmetic and family dentistry. He has served the community through the Mission of Mercy project and Donated Dental Services. Dr. Neighbors has also travelled to the impoverished nation Sierra Leone, West Africa with Helping Children Worldwide to provide dental care. Dr. Neighbors is a member of the American Dental Association, the Virginia Dental Association and the Richmond Dental Society. His wife, Dr. Joy Moretti, is a practicing periodontist in the office. They have two college aged sons, Ryan and Josh.

Dr. Brian Herod

Dr. Brian Herod was born and raised in Richmond, Virginia. He graduated cum laude from James Madison University and attained his DDS degree from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry. After graduating, Dr. Herod completed a rigorous one year Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at VCU. In this program, he obtained advanced training in complex patient care, implant dentistry, cosmetics, surgery, endodontics, and orthodontics. He is also trained and certified as an Invisalign provider. Dr. Herod is a member of the International Academy of Oral and Medical Toxicology, American Dental Association, Virginia Dental Association, Richmond Dental Society, and Academy of General Dentistry.Dr. Herod has been an active member in the Mission of Mercy Projects throughout his dental career, providing dental care to those less fortunate. His most recent trip took him to Trelawny, Jamaica, on a week-long dental mission.

Dr. Herod also serves as a Clinical Instructor at the VCU Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency. In this program, Dr. Herod aids in the education of other dentists in advanced dental techniques and procedures. When not in the office, Dr. Herod enjoys being in the outdoors and spending time with his wife Joy and his two boys, Walton and Zeb. Dr. Herod believes that all patients should be treated like family and strives to do this everyday. He looks forward to meeting you and addressing all of your dental needs.

DR. JOY MORETTI

DR. JOY MORETTI

DDS

Dr. Joy Moretti grew up in a suburb of Philadelphia PA. She graduated from the Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry in 1991. Upon graduation Dr. Moretti was awarded the Pierre Fauchard Academy Award and the American Academy of Periodontology Student Award. She attended a two year residency and earned a certificate in Advanced Education of general dentistry from the University of California San Francisco. She then attended her second residency at the Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry to earn a certificate in Periodontics. Dr. Moretti continues her dental education by attending multiple continuing education courses throughout the year. She has been voted one of the Top Periodontists in both Richmond Magazine and Virginia Living Magazine.

Dr. Moretti specializes in comprehensive periodontal care which includes the treatment of periodontitis (gum disease), gum grafting, bone regeneration procedures around both teeth and implants, implant dentistry and cosmetic soft tissue procedures. She is a member of the Richmond Dental Society, the Virginia Dental Society, the American Dental Society, the American Academy of Periodontology, the Southern Academy of Periodontology, Richmond Women’s Dental Society and the Virginia Society of Periodontists, of which she was a past president. She previously held teaching positions at the University of California San Francisco and the Medical College of Virginia. Presently Dr. Moretti lectures to local dentists and civic groups on current topics of periodontology.

In her free time, Dr. Moretti enjoys hiking, running, traveling and spending time with her husband and two sons. She is truly grateful for the opportunity to work with wonderful patients, and a hardworking office team.
